Alabama A&M University has established email as a primary form of communication with students, faculty, and staff. All students are required to have a bulldogs.aamu.edu account; your bulldog account is the official and only email address recognized by the University. Bulldog student email is hosted by Google.
New Student Email Access
Email access for new students will be available after the following dates:
- Fall or Summer Semester Acceptance - Will have access after March 1st
- Spring Semester Acceptance - Will have access after October 1st
Your bulldogs.aamu.edu Email account gives you full access to the complete set of Google GSuite. These tools include:
- GMAIL: Over 6GB of email quota, mail search tools, and integrated chat using your bulldogs.aamu.edu email address
- Google Calendar: An online calendar tool that allows you to coordinate meetings, schedule events, and share you calendar with others
- Drive, Docs, Sheets, & Slides: Create, share and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in real-time across campus or across the world
Accessing your Email
The myAAMU Single Sign On (SSO) portal gives you access to all of the AAMU resources and tools that Students, Faculty, and Staff will need for their respective areas. Single Sign-On (SSO) allows you to log in to your Alabama A&M University applications (Self Service Banner, Email, etc) using one username and one password to access all applications, eliminating the need to remember multiple sets of passwords.
Once you have signed in for the first time, please fill out all the recovery information (Primary email and Cell phone number). DO NOT USE an aamu.edu email for primary email recovery! Instructions on setting up your account recovery info . Once this info has been updated, you can then receive codes to your recovery email or cell phone from our Multi-Factor Authentication security features built into the SSO portal.

Don't share your password with anybody, including your peers, friends, and family members. Nobody at AAMU, including Information Technology and Services (ITS), will ever ask for your password. Do not respond to any requests to reveal your password or other private information, including online and email requests. Create a strong password, change your password often, and report to ITS if anyone is using your account without permission. Treat your password like the PIN for your ATM card - as your secret!
